Being part of a good fundraiser is something we here at Riptide Entertainment love to be a part of. When the good folks at Down Syndrome Information Alliance asked us to help with their CELEBRATION OF HOPE, we were happy to be part of the big party. The Down Syndrome fundraising was such a great learning experience for us. The staff and volunteers were all so helpful and ready for the big night. The night was set with a full night that included a nice dinner, followed by a live art auction. CMT and After Midnight’s own HEATHER LEE, MC’d the event with her smooth mic skills. Raising the bar for each art piece that would go directly to the programs that help those that need it most.
The STARs of the night were those that are in involved with DSIA and the cast from A&E’s network show BORN THIS WAY! Four of the cast members-Elena, John, Cristina, and Rachel, and their families joined us for the evening, and partied the night away. Along with the cast, there also was a film crew from the A&E Network filming the evening for an episode of the show for SEASON 2-BORN THIS WAY! Keep an eye out for Season 2 and for Riptide and DJ Derik on A&E. Elena’s art won the high bid of the night during the art auction! She was so happy and even posed for pictures with the winning bidder. You could see the pride beaming from her smile!
